Ann Fitzgerald Flemer College Mentorship Program

The MTC's Ann Fitzgerald Flemer College Mentorship Program is providing students/mentees with a paid opportunity to gain professional work experience in transportation planning, finance and operational projects.

Mentees will be provided with a dedicated mentor throughout the program — the mentor will help develop and guide students in their overall career interests. We hope that participants will be inspired by their mentor and work team to consider government agency work as a career choice in the future.

2024 Program Schedule

The 2024 application period has closed.

Mentees will work with a dedicated mentor from June 10 through Aug. 2, 2024, both in the office in downtown San Francisco and remotely. During the eight-week program, mentees will be involved in a variety of tasks aimed at expanding their range of career interests and encouraging them to consider government work as a future career choice.

About Ann Flemer

Former MTC Executive Director Ann Flemer began her 32-year career at MTC as a college intern herself in 1982. Over the following decades, she became a cherished mentor to an entire generation of leaders at MTC and at many of our partner agencies. Throughout her career, Ann was a champion for young people’s access to transportation and an advocate for their participation in the planning process. MTC is proud to name the Pathway to Government College Mentorship Program after Executive Director Flemer, honoring her memory of mentorship and service.
