Take Survey: Bay Trail SFO Gap Study

A new survey seeks public input on three route options to address a three-mile gap in the Bay Trail around San Francisco International Airport (SFO.)

The survey — available through Aug. 31 — can be found in:

• English
• Spanish
• Simplified Chinese
• Traditional Chinese

The survey seeks input on a new Bay Trail segment through Millbrae and San Bruno connecting to existing San Francisco Bay Trail segments.

Many factors will be used to evaluate the proposed Bay Trail connections, including length and cost, connectivity to destinations, constructability, environmental impacts and equity considerations.

Additionally, the preferred alignment must work towards the overarching goals of the Bay Trail:

• Foster active transportation;
• Promote healthy communities;
• Facilitate environmental stewardship and education; and
• Increase equitable public shoreline access for all Bay Area residents and visitors. 

This project is funded by a $160,000 donation from the John and Gwen Smart Foundation. Additional funding has been added to assist with environmental and right-of-way analysis.
