Bike to Work Day 2018
Under sunny skies and moderate temperatures, tens of thousands of bicyclists rolled along streets and roads throughout the nine-county San Francisco Bay Area for the 24th Bike to Work Day on May 10.
The bicyclists helped to reduce their carbon footprints and keep the air clean, and had a good workout, while saving money that would have been spent driving to work. Thousands of volunteers at over 400 energizer stations greeted riders and helped turn a normal Thursday morning commute into a celebration on two wheels. Bicyclists were welcomed with beverages, snacks and tote bags filled with giveaways.
Presented by the Metropolitan Transportation Commission (MTC), 511 and Kaiser Permanente, Bike to Work Day encourages local residents to try commuting by pedal power for the first time and celebrates those who bike to work regularly.
